In 2011, Sam Oddo ’16 decided to help his mother with a Bank of America sponsored bake sale, benefiting the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization. It was a fun day and the bake sale made almost $750. Two years later, Will Chaiken ’16 joined this annual event.

Fast forward to 2015, and this grassroots fundraiser has grown to include over fifty bakers, corporate sponsors, and 500 customers. Sam and Will start the day at 6:00 a.m., transporting baked goods in time to entice the before-work crowd. Throughout the day, they manage debit/credit card payments via Square. They help orient Bank of America volunteers that arrive during the day. They replenish over sixty feet of tables with cupcakes, cookies and brownies. The hard work pays off. This year’s bake sale raised $5,333 for breast cancer research, education and support, bringing the five-year total to over $15,000.

Awesome job, Sam and Will!
