Fifth-Graders “Drive” Home Math Concepts
Fifth-graders – start your engines! Students in Mrs. Morris’s math class are getting “up to speed” learning about aerodynamics in a fun, hands-on manner. Students are building paper race cars (complete with lifesaver wheels) and investigating how elements like drag, downforce, and drafting affect speed. The activities are in preparation for a field trip this Friday to the Nascar Hall of Fame.
Middle School Celebrates Earth Day by Composting
Middle School has taken the concept of Earth Day to heart and set out yellow bins in the cafeteria for composting. Composting is nature’s process of “recycling” decomposed organic materials into soil that is rich with nutrients. The compost is then delivered to the Elma C. Lomax Incubator Farm. Way to “grow,” Middle School!
