Honor Council needs your COURAGE, INTEGRITY, and PASSION.  We will be electing new members to serve on next year’s council.  Please submit a speech to Dean Booker or Ms. Lineberger before 3pm on 2/27. Speeches will be on 3/2 during Community meeting.  Feel free to meet with Dean Booker or Ms. Lineberger for insight into the rewards and demands of serving on Honor Council.  Speeches should reflect the serious nature of this commitment.

Freshmen – Juniors:

A representative from Wake University Charlotte Campus – Summer Immersion Program will be on campus from 11:15-12 on Today in the Private  Dining Room. 

The Wake Forest University Summer Immersion Program offers rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors the chance to dive deep and explore a particular field of study. Those selected for the program will enjoy access to world-class faculty, resources, industry professionals and a one-of-a-kind view from inside a career field.

The 2015 Summer Immersion Program is non-residential and features four institutes based at the Wake Forest University Charlotte Center, with one day of each week-long session held on the Wake Forest campus in Winston-Salem. Each session will accept a select number of students and tuition includes lunch, books and supplies, all institute-sponsored field trips and activities as well as transportation to those activities. The deadline for applications is March 13, 2015.

House Impetus is sponsoring a school supply drive from February 23rd to March 6th for Classroom Central. Classroom Central is a nonprofit that collects school supplies and distributes them to students living in poverty. It serves 100,000 students in over 200 schools. All Upper School advisories are invited to participate. Advisors, if your advisory is interested in participating, please email Mrs. Zelaya to receive more information. School supplies are preferred and can be placed in the boxes around school, but donations will also be accepted. Every $1 that you bring in will be matched for $5 in school supplies. The advisory that brings in the most school supplies will receive a pizza party. Thank you!

Cannon Theater Company’s winter musical “Carousel” runs next week Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night at 7pm! Admission is free for Cannon students and employees, but space is limited, so make your reservations in advance at www.cannonschool.org/ctc.  Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel” is a powerful story featuring amazing lead performances by seasoned CTC actors, virtuosic singing and dancing, and high-energy fun from an extremely talented supporting cast of veterans and newcomers alike.
