In honor of Veterans Day, Lower School students celebrated our military heroes with an Adaptive Expertise Day that focused on understanding the different branches of the military and the role the military plays in our country.
Students began their day by converging on the Cannon Performing Arts Center to witness a tribute to the armed forces, as well as a Marine Corps presentation. (They were also treated to a beautiful rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner by our very own Head of Lower School, Michelle Alexander!) Throughout the day, students also visited the USO – NC Mobile Unit, made goody bags and thank you cards for the troops, and had the opportunity to meet members of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. The day proved to be both educational and enjoyable for everyone.
Thanks to all those who serve or have served—we owe you a debt of gratitude!
