On Thursday, the boys’ swim team defeated Providence Day, while the girls’ team lost a close meet, falling short by six points. The following athletes placed first: Harrison Barone ’15 (100 fly); Diana Dale ’16 (100 back stroke); Burke Riley ’15 (500 free); Maija Roses ’14 (200 IM and 100 fly); the team of Isabella Jacoby ’16, Diana Dale, Maija Roses, and Darby West ’15 (200 medley relay); the team of Diana Dale, Sydney Frankenburg ’15, Maija Roses, and Darby West (400 relay); and the team of Harrison Barone, Preston Miller ’16, Michael Pope ’13, and Jack Workman ’16(200 medley relay). The Cougars will be back in the pool with the Middle School swim team against Charlotte Catholic on December 11.
The eighth-grade girls’ basketball team defeated Charlotte Country Day 37-30 on Friday, bringing their record to 4-1. Tyler Turner ’17 led scoring with eleven points, six rebounds, and four steals. The lady Cougars will face a very tough opponent at home tonight in Lake Norman Charter.
The varsity boys’ basketball team defeated East Henderson High School at Time Warner Cable Arena 50-42 on Saturday. Chris Batchelor ’14 had twelve points and seventeen rebounds; Phil Jewell ’14 had sixteen points and four rebounds; and Lucas Anderson ’14 had eight points, four steals, and five assists.
