  • MS girls’ soccer fell to Providence Day yesterday 2-0.  Although the girls did not play with their usual intensity during the first half, they picked up the play in the second half.  However, it was not enough to pull out the win over the PD team.  The girls look forward to taking on Charlotte Country Day at home on Wednesday at 4:15.  Come out and support your Cougars!!

  • Middle School Lacrosse played their third away game of the season yesterday, traveling to Providence Day.  Danny Brenner would score two goals to keep the score even at 2-2 going in to halftime.  The Chargers, winning 80% of the face-offs on the day, would take one down to score just eight seconds in to the third quarter.  Addison Hearn brought the game back to 3-3 with just 1.2 seconds left on the third quarter clock.  Cannon then took their first lead of the game when Jack Workman fed Davis Nelson on the doorstep for his first goal of the season.  Providence Day tied the game just a minute later and the teams were deadlocked at four goals apiece…until Dominic Pelucio broke loose.  Dodging three PD defenders, he took it to goal and put the Cougars back on top with just a minute to play.  Solid defensive play by Sam Oddo, William Chaiken, and David Ratte kept the Chargers at bay and the Cougars would hold on to beat Providence Day, 5-4.  Scoring summary: (Davis Nelson 1G, 2 GBs) (Preston Miller 2A, 2GBs) (Danny Brenner 2G, 1A, 9 GBs) (Addison Hearn 1A, 4 GBs) (Jordan Wagner 4 GBs) (Dom Pelucio 1G, 1GB) (Sam Oddo 5GBs) (David Ratte 1A, 1GB)
